Senator demands favourable business environment

Assures businessmen challenges will be taken up for resolution

The business community is doing the country a great service by promoting business activities, improving exports, enhancing tax revenue and creating jobs, remarked Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar.

During his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Friday, the senator urged the government to create conducive environment for the promotion of business and economic activities, citing that the government was responsible to support the industry.

He assured businessmen that he would make efforts to highlight their challenges and bring them to the knowledge of relevant standing committees of the Senate for their swift resolution.

Khokhar appreciated the role of ICCI in raising the issues faced by the businessmen at relevant forums to facilitate its members in business development.

Speaking on the occasion, ICCI President Muhammad Shakeel Munir apprised the senator of the key challenges faced by the business community.

He requested Khokhar to discuss the issues with the relevant government representatives for their resolution.

ICCI Senior Vice President Jamshaid Akhtar Sheikh, Vice President Muhammad Faheem Khan and other officials were present on the occasion. Earlier, the business community called upon the government to focus on diversification of exportable products and markets in order to boost the export volume, which would help achieve better economic growth and address economic woes.
