239 awarded degrees at 5th KMU convocation

A student wins 11 gold medals in various disciplines

PESHAWAR:

The 5th convocation of Khyber Medical University (KMU) was held on Thursday during which degrees were conferred upon 239 students of PhD, MPhil, masters and bachelors. Around 105 graduates in different disciplines were awarded gold medals.

Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Chancellor KMU Peshawar Shah Farman was the chief guest on this occasion.

A student of KMU Sadaf Khan got 11 gold medals in various disciplines.

Addressing the gathering the govornor said that KMU is playing its role in providing competent and highly trained human resource in various fields to tackle health problems in the province.

While presenting performance of the university, the vice chancellor Professor Dr Ziaul Haq said that we are proud of the services rendered by KMU in its short history of 15 years by producing thousands of graduates in various disciplines of health.

He said that KMU is one of the few universities in the country which is financially stable due to strict financial discipline which has given us the opportunity to set up new institutes in remote districts of the province especially in the newly merged tribal districts.
