Alleged robber injured in police encounter

An alleged robber was injured during a police encounter.

New Town police claimed that the alleged robber, identified as Jahanzeb, was injured by his fleeing accomplices after an encounter with the police.

Police said that Jahanzeb was injured during the exchange of fire while three of his accomplices escaped under the cover of fire.

Police claimed that Jahanzeb has a record of involvement in several robberies, mugging and car theft.

Police said that a search operation was being conducted to arrest the absconding accused. The injured robber has been shifted to the Holy Family Hospital for treatment.

Two children allegedly kidnapped

In a separate case, a case has been registered against four people for kidnapping two children in the Gujjar Khan area.

According to police, Azuma Shaheen told police that she married Habib Shah in 2008 but he divorced her after they had two children. She said that her children were with her.

She said that the children's meeting with the father was scheduled and they met him in the court.

Later, while she was coming out of the court with the children, Habib Shah, Adib Shah and others kidnapped her children. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
