928 new Covid cases detected, no death reported
Fortunately, no death stemming from coronavirus disease was reported on Sunday, however, 928 new cases emerged when 14,012 tests were conducted, a statement issued from CM House said on Sunday.
The current detection rate in Sindh was 6.6 per cent, while the recovery rate from the pandemic stood at 96.4, the statement read. The condition of 142 patients was stated to be critical, including 11 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 928 new cases, 748 have been detected from Karachi. Hyderabad has 29, Nausheroferoze 15, Shaheed Benazirabad and Thatta 13 each, Dadu and Matiari 12 each.

Sharing vaccination data the statement said that 30,618 people have been vaccinated which constituted 55.44 per cent of the vaccine eligible population. Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh, while expressing concerns over alarming spread of Omicron in Karachi demanded of Sindh government to expedite the vaccination process.
"I am convinced that vaccine would have been sold by corrupt elements of Sindh Health Department," he alleged. Besides, vaccinators have not being paid their salaries since nine months and they were staging protests for their right, he said.
