Islamia University: Nearly two thirds fail BA/BSc exams

BAHAWALPUR: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) has announced the results of its first annual BA/BSc examination 2011. According to the result notification, 13,127 candidates had sat the BA (bachelors of arts) exam.  Of these, 4,546 passed the exam –pass percentage of 34.63 per cent. Umm-e-Habiba secured first position by getting 674 marks out of 800, Muhammad Umar Latif stood second with 672 marks and Ayesha Yasmin third with 659 marks. As many as 3,849 candidates had sat BSc (bachelors of sciences) exam. Of these, 2,098 were declared successful – a pass percentage of 54.50 per cent. Sana Saleem stood first by scoring 705 marks, Faiza Iftikhar second with 702 marks and Iram Ibrahim third with 691 marks.
