Details are sketchy but rumour mills have been running with claims that a Pakistani actor is set to debut in The Crown's upcoming season as Dr Hasnat Khan.

Many have been guessing that either Fawad Khan or Humayun Saeed will be seen in the Netflix hit since Galaxy Lollywood reported that a 'Pakistani superstar', who has also been cast in Ms Marvel, will be seen in a 'substantial' role in the royal drama.

"Its 100 percent Fawad Khan because he is the only actor who will appear in Ms Marvel," a user wrote in the comments section. "It's Fawad and only Fawad," chimed in another, with many more hoping for the same.

However, Mahira Khan while congratulating her Bin Roye costar revealed that Humayun will be essaying the role.

Humayun or Netflix is yet to confirm the news.

Dr Hasnat, a British-Pakistani heart and lung surgeon, is widely known for his romantic, two-year relationship with Diana. The 'People's Princess' is said to have described him as 'Mr Wonderful' and in May 1996, she visited his family in Lahore too. Diana’s friends are reported to have described Hasnat as the "love of her life" and to have spoken of her distress when he ended their relationship in June 1997. Dr Hasnat attended Diana's funeral ceremony as well.

But Jemima Goldsmith severed ties with The Crown over its 'disrespectful' portrayal of Diana's story earlier in November. She had told a British newspaper, “Peter Morgan and I worked together on the outline and scripts from September 2020 until February 2021. When our co-writing agreement was not honoured, and when I realised that the particular storyline would not necessarily be told as respectfully or compassionately as I had hoped, I requested that all my contributions be removed from the series and I declined a credit."

As for Fawad's venture into MCU, the actor, without divulging much about his role, told Film Companion in December, "I am in Ms Marvel. I can't deny that anymore, the makers have revealed it themselves now. It was a wonderful experience; it was good fun. The cast that I worked with, the people that I worked with, it was good fun but I am sorry, I cannot say anything more than that at this point."
