In a heartbreaking incident, at least 19 tourists stranded in their vehicles succumbed to the extreme weather during a snowstorm in Murree on Friday night, said Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Saturday.
According to the minister who arrived in Murree to monitor the rescue operation, hundreds of vehicles were stranded in Murree whereas over 23,000 vehicles have been rescued. The tragic incident was brought to attention after several posts and videos about the same started circulating on social media.
Many took to Twitter and expressed sorrow over the loss of innocent lives, while others criticised authorities for not rescuing the tourists in time. However, many tweeps condemned people who are sharing heartwrenching videos from the tourist site.
Some heartless idiot has filmed & shared the video of frozen bodies in Murree. Please do not RT or share it further. Show some goddamn respect to the deceased.

Please stop people from posting videos on the Internet. Put trigger warnings if you're gonna share pictures and videos of dead bodies. I don't want them on my TL. #Murree

Please don't freaking share videos from tragic Murree incident. How insensitive have you people become who share such videos. May Allah grant the deceased a place in Jannah and give patience to their loved ones to bear such an irreparable loss. Ameen.

Please don’t share videos of the families losing their lives stuck in Murree snowfall. It’s more than traumatising seeing small children and families like this. Also whoever’s reading this, PLEASE STAY HOME, RISKING YOUR LIFE IS NO FUN.

People who are sharing & retweeting videos of people/families dead in cars, for God's sake show some humanity & empathy. You can just share the car number & other details. What if one of their family members browsing & watch it? Stop this nonsense right now.#Murree
