Transfers Allowed: NAB’s authority recognized
Haq had challenged his transfer from Lahore to Peshawar and the court had issued a stay order on it.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Wednesday vacated a stay order it had granted earlier against the transfer of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) director Irshadul Haq, ruling that the NAB deputy chairman has the authority to issue his transfer order. Haq had challenged his transfer from Lahore to Peshawar and the court had issued a stay order on it. NAB representative submitted on Wednesday that the transfer was in accordance with law and that the deputy chairman was empowered under the law to issue the transfer orders. After hearing the arguments, the court vacated the stay order and disposed of the petition.
