QUETTA:

Balochistan National Party leader and Member of Balochistan Assembly Shakeela Naveed Dehwar has said the obstacles women face today in society can easily be removed by their willpower.

She expressed these views during a workshop on Wednesday.

Shakeela Naveed Dehwar said that women are doing better than men in every field. While acknowledging the hardship that women endure in different fields such as politics and journalism, the MPA said that the first obstacle for a woman comes from her own people and family.

She said that Women’s Media Centre and press club are playing a pivotal role in enhancing the eligibility of women journalists, adding that dangers are there in every field, but women have to be united and fight them together.

She said that women should come to journalism and bring a positive change to Balochistan in a positive way.

The theme of this workshop, held at a local hotel in Quetta, is ‘Freedom of Expression: Reliability of Digital Media Landscape’. Female students and female journalists from different universities and media attended the workshop.
