The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had added young batsman Usman Salahuddin to the list of contracts that were handed out earlier.

The committee comprising of chief selector Mohsin Khan, Intikhab Alam and Zakir Khan that was formed to recommend names of players to be awarded central contracts recommended Salahuddin’s name to be added to the stipend category, a move approved by the PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt. “Usman is a fine player and is performing consistently,” he said. “In a review meeting his name came under discussion and it was agreed that he should be awarded the central contract.” The total number of players to receive central contracts is now 29.
