Young parliamentarians elect new office-bearers

Makhdoomzada Zain Hussain Qureshi, son of Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi, was elected president

Young Parliamentarians Forum elected its new office-holders in an election held at the Parliament House on Thursday.

Makhdoomzada Zain Hussain Qureshi, the son of Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi, was elected as the president, Kanwal Shozab as general secretary and Tashfeen Safdar Marala as the media coordinator.

For the general secretary position, Kanwal from the PTI received 62 votes while Azmi Riaz Jadoon came second with 30 votes.

For the media coordinator slot, PTI’s Tashfeen received 54 votes while Shandana Gulzar Khan received 38 votes. PTI’s Zain was elected as the president while PML-N’s Romana Khurshid Alam was elected as the vice president, PPP’s Syed Murtaza Mahmood was elected as joint secretary, and PML-N’s Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar was elected as the finance secretary.

All four were elected to their respected seats unopposed.
