‘Family of politicians’: Safdar says Junaid will join politics
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (r) Mohammad Safdar has made it clear that his son, Junaid Safdar, will join politics.
While speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday, the senior party leader was asked whether his son would follow in the family’s footsteps. He replied that just like every son follows his father’s profession, his and PML-N VP Maryam Nawaz’s son, Junaid, too will become a politician.
“This is the writing on the wall,” he said.
Reminiscing about Junaid’s childhood, he mentioned how he used to cling to his grandfather, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, during his imprisonment following the military coup led by General (r) Pervez Musharraf in 1999. He added that this implied that he would serve the slogan of constitutionalism in the country and this is why he is pursuing his legal studies.

When asked about Nawaz’s return to the country, the senior PML-N leader said that if it would help improve the country’s exchange rate he would bring him back the next morning.
Separately, according to Express News, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday dismissed a treason case against Safdar and others.
Reacting to the development, the PML-N leader said, “I used to come to the court here three years ago. If anyone wants to see justice, then they should come to the court of KP. I want to thank the court of KP where I got justice.”
