THEKRI WALA:

A man allegedly shot dead his father and half-brother over a land dispute.

Police shifted the bodies to the mortuary and started searching for the fugitive.

Mohammad Amir Siddique, a resident of 30 GB, Narwala Road, used to ask his father Mohammad Siddique, 65, an employee at the Civil Hospital, for a share in the latter’s land, but he did not pay attention to the demands of his son which turned into a quarrel between the two men.

During a heated argument, Amir Siddique opened fire on his father Siddique and his half-brother Muhammad Farooq with a 9mm pistol, seriously injuring them who later died of their injuries.

Sandal Bar police reached the spot and seized the bodies of the two victims and started raids to arrest the accused.

Meanwhile, CPO Ghulam Mubashir Mekan took notice of the incident of double murder and sought a report on the incident from SP of Iqbal Town and issued orders for immediate arrest of the accused.

In October this year, three suspects, including a woman, had been arrested in the murder case of three brothers in Shahdara Town, Lahore.

The suspects were identified as Rashida Bibi, her husband Asghar and their son Ghulam Abbas. Asghar had also been injured during the firing incident that claimed the lives of the three brothers.

The deceased were identified as Hafiz Tahir Mehmood, Tahir Masood and Hafiz Mohammad Zeeshan Yaqub.

They had been allegedly shot dead by their neighbours over a petty dispute.

The suspects had opened fire after a brother of the three victims, Tahir Mehboob, scolded a minor boy for sitting on the bonnet of his guests’ car parked outside his home.

The complainant, Tahir Mehboob, had said in his statement to the police that his two brothers-in-law, Muhammad Arif Khan and Muhammad Tanveer, were visiting him from Muzaffarabad.

The guests had parked their car in front of Mehboob’s house. As he came outside his home in the evening, he saw a boy named Ghulam Abbas sitting on the bonnet of the car and asked him not to sit there.

Later, Ghulam Abbas’ mother Rasheeda Bibi came outside and started hurling abuses at Mehboob and she allegedly threatened to “teach him a lesson”.
