First overseas global moot planned for 23rd

PM gives go ahead for moot to resolve issue of expats

The first "Overseas Global Convention" of overseas Pakistanis living around the world will be held on December 23 at the Governor House, Lahore. Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the overseas Pakistanis in the convention while overseas Pakistanis from all over the world, including Europe, will attend the convention.

It was announced after a meeting between Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar and Overseas Pakistani Commission (OPC) Punjab Vice Chairman Syed Makhdoom Tariqul Hassan on Thursday. The OCP vice chairman briefed governor about the steps taken to address issues of overseas Pakistanis and arrangements for the Overseas Global Convention.

It was decided in the meeting that Prime Minister Imran Khan, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and OCP Vice Chairman Syed Makhdoom Tariqul Hassan will addresses the convention which will be attended by overseas Pakistanis from around the world, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

Sarwar said the role played by expats in Pakistan's development cannot be described in words. The federal and the Punjab governments are working round the clock to solve problems of overseas Pakistanis and any kind of oppression and injustice against overseas Pakistanis will not be tolerated.
