Indonesian CG arranges meeting of PBNU, Jamia Binoria, Dar ul Uloom Muftis

In order to strengthen the socio-cultural relations between Pakistan and Indonesia, two Muslim countries, the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi facilitated meetings between the representative of Nahdlatul Ulama Main Committee / Pengurus Besar Nahdalatul Ulama (PBNU), led by Kyai Zulfa Mustofa and the leaders of Jamia Binoria Al-Aalmia and Jamia Darul Uloom.

Kyai Zulfa Mustofa, who also serves as Vice-Secretary in the Secretariat of Consultative Board of Indonesian Ulema Council (Majelsi Ulema Indonesia/MUI), visited two of the biggest Madaris in Karachi, namely Jamia Binoria Al-Aalmia and Jamia Darul Uloom.

The meetings between Kyai Zulfa Mustofa with Sheikh Maulana Nooman Naeem (Jamia Darululoom) and Sheikh Maulana Farhan Naeem (Jamia Binoria Al-Aalmia) were arranged in warm and constructive manner, in which Kyai Zulfa from Nahdaltul Ulama (NU), provided information on Majalis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) as a national platform that unites all Muslim organisations in Indonesia as well as information on Nahdaltul Ulama as one of the major Islamic organisations in Indonesia which has its members all over the world, including Pakistan.

During the meeting, Indonesian Consul General, Dr. June Kuncoro stated that the visit was also the part of Indonesian commitment to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries in the form of people-to-people contact and socio-cultural ties which shares the common ideas of Islam as an inclusive faith based on the principle of Rehmatul Lil Aalameen.

The meetings also provide opportunity for educational programme between Jamia Binoria Al Alamia and Jamia Darul Uloom with the Islamic Madresah and university in Indonesia.

In the end of the visits, Kyai Zulfa Mustofa presented three books written by himself to the Leaders of Jamia Binoria and Jamia Darul Uloom which may serve as reference on the development of Islam in Indonesia.
