The gory murder of a man at the hands of a woman who claims to be his wife allegedly turned out to be the result of substance abuse.
According to the investigation police, the arrested suspect, Rubab Asma, 40, and the man she claims to be her lawful husband, Sheikh Sohail, 70, had been using methamphetamine ice for the last seven years. The couple often fought and quarreled under influence of drugs.
Sohail's family repeatedly denied that Rubab was his wife.
According to investigators, on the day of the incident, the couple was under the influence of crystal meth drug and quarreled. During the regular bout, Rubab got hold of an iron rod and started clobbering Sohail at their apartment in a residential building on Abdullah Haroon Road in Saddar on the night between Thursday and Friday. Under the influence of drug, she went on the decapitate the corpse then dismember it and then finally went to sleep in her bed. Police officer who raided the crime scene to arrest her vouched that she was under influence of an intoxicant when they woke her up on Friday morning.
Police arrested the suspect on the spot and registered a case on the complaint of victim's son.
During the interrogation, many facts came to light before the police.

According to Preedy Police Station Senior Investigation Officer Atiqur Rehman, the arrested woman and her slain husband were ice addicts. They had been using ice for the last seven years.
Rehman said Rubab told the investigators during her remand that she and Sohail got married in 2013. "We used to fight often and sometimes would not speak with each other for months," Rubab said in her confessional statement.
On that fateful night, rehamn said quoting the suspect, the two were taking the drug together and a quarrel broke out between them. The intoxicated woman slapped her husband at which bitter words were exchanged between the two. Meanwhile, the woman hit her husband on the head with an iron rod as a result of which he started bleeding. The woman started cleansing her husband's blood, however, during this time, there was another quarrel and the woman again started beating her husband and took his life.
According to the investigation police, after killing her husband, she started dismembering the body. He said a watchman of the flat saw Rubab throw her husband's hands out of the window. The woman later went downstairs and took both hands and walked up the stairs again. "I could not understand what I saw," the puzzled watchman told the police.
