We will sleep peacefully when we decide cases as per law: Justice Isa
Supreme Court Justice Qazi Faez Issa has said that when we make decisions in accordance with the constitution and law, we will sleep peacefully.
"The act of hating, killing and burning cannot get anyone to their destination. In the Holy Qur'an, killing one human being is considered as killing of all humanity. I would like to salute those who sacrificed their lives for the constitution and law," Justice Issa said while addressing the annual dinner hosted by the Karachi Bar Association at the Karachi City Court.
The event was attended by a large number of guests including Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi.
District and Sessions Judges were also present on the occasion. Addressing the function, Justice Issa said that there is no need for such brave judges who make decisions as per their whims and consider themselves brave. "I salute the lawyers who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of the Constitution and the law," the apex court judge said. Justice Issa said that it is said that a life of a brave man is better than a life of a coward. Addressing the gathering, he said the more competent the lawyer and the more competent the judge, the easier it will be to reach the goal.

"A lawyer from this city defeated the largest party in the subcontinent with his pen and arguments," the top court judge said. Meanwhile, Karachi Bar President Naeem Qureshi in his address said that Ali Ahmed Kurd had represented 220 million people in Lahore.
"When there was no democracy in this country, Karachi Bar played a vital role. Justice Qazi Faez Issa is a symbol of struggle. He was born in Quetta and his father was a leading figure in Tehreek-e-Pakistan. Faez Issa's father founded the All-India Muslim League in Balochistan," Qureshi said. "If the government had implemented the Quetta Judicial Inquiry Report, terrorism in the country would have ended. Now it has become a trend to paralyze the country by holding a sit-in in Islamabad," he added.
The KBA president said in 2018, baseless references were made against Qazi Faez Issa and his family. "Faez Issa confronted the then generals, governments and the dictators. His decisions will always be valid," he said.
