PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday vowed that his party would regain its lost ground in the province of Punjab.
The PPP chief was welcoming around 180 new members from the province into the party’s fold.
“The PPP flag will be hoisted on the house where it was used to be in in the past,” the scion of the Bhutto dynasty claimed as he congratulated the newcomers.
“Whoever ever chanted the slogan of ‘Jeay Bhutto’ in the past will join us again. Even today, the slogan of Roti, Kapra and Makaan [Bread, clothing and housing) is as important as it was in the 70s,” he added.
Recalling that the PPP was founded in Lahore, Bilawal stressed the significance of winning the heart of the city again.
The PPP chairman recalled that that his party had provided employment to the people of Punjab in the past and given homes to them through housing schemes.
He claimed that it was only the PPP that could again provide jobs to the people of the province.
“We do not have a personal fight with anyone. Our problem is the basic rights of the people.”
Bilawal claimed that the PPP was not into politics for governance, but to provide public service.

“When I reach every tehsil of Punjab, rivals will learn that only the PPP knows how politics is done.”
The newcomers to the PPP fold mainly belonged to the PTI and PML-N.
The PPP chairman informed them about the “growing popularity” of his party in the province.
Bilawal was accompanied by other leaders of the party including Raja Pervez Ashraf, Hassan Murtaza, Shehzad Saeed Cheema and Aslam Gill.
A day earlier, Bilawal had claimed that his party would give a surprise in the next general election, especially in Punjab.
On Saturday, the PPP chairman at his residence in Lahore appreciated his members for showing excellent performance in the by-poll for NA-133 in which the party had made a comeback.
Its candidate, Aslam Gill, had secured over 32,000 votes against PML-N’s winning candidate Shaista Pervaiz’s 46,000.
The PPP chairman said the people of Punjab were being oppressed and this would not continue anymore.
“We will give a surprise in the next election in Punjab and other parts of the country,” he claimed.

I think the PPP leaders need to look at the province of Sindh. They could not manage Karachi in the past few decades and made it into a living hell. Broken roads no security no water no peace no business development no planning for infrastructure basically nothing. If they have done this to Karachi while Sindh is even worse than Karachi just imagine if they get a hold of Punjab what will they do to Punjab. The worst administrators or Governments of its time THE PPP.
