Maulana Hidayatur Rehman who is leading the Gwadar protest and sit-in has welcomed a tweet by Prime Minister Imran Khan and said that they are not stubborn people as local residents also wanted a solution to their problems.
He said that it is really a welcome development that Prime Minister has taken notice of the protest and decided to accept the demands of the people including the illegal fishing in Balochistan’s territorial waters after their 28-day sit-in.
He said that local residents of Gwadar are protesting for their rights. He hoped that the federal and provincial government would try to solve their problems on permanent basis.
However, he stressed that the Prime Minister should also mention and solve their other demands which are also important including opening of border, power and water issues and returning of seized fishing boats and vehicles.
He said that the provincial government has also issued official notifications about acceptance of their demands but its implementation was another issue.
“We want implementation of all our demands as our people have been deprived of their livelihood by means of restrictions,” Maulana Hidayatur Rehman said.
It is worth mentioning here that thousands of residents of Gwadar are protesting for the past 28 days for their demands.
