A heart attack can be caused by a number of factors including but not limited to unhealthy eating and excessive stress. However, much to everyone’s surprise, Bollywood actor John Abraham’s ignorance raised eyebrows due to a wrong explanation of the disease on a talk show.
During promotions for their recent release, Satyameva Jayate 2, John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar made an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show. During a segment, the fitness enthusiast ironically explained a heart attack using a ‘bubbles’ analogy. Stranger than it sounds, his explanation included the fusion of oil with water causing the triglycerides, as bubbles in the blood that travel to the heart resulting in a stress-induced heart attack.
For the unversed, Triglycerides are a type of fat (lipids) found in one’s blood instead of bubbles. After consumption of food, the body converts any calories rendered useless into triglycerides. “The triglycerides are stored in your fat cells. Later, hormones release triglycerides for energy between meals,” Mayo Clinic explains. It also highlights that “Triglycerides and cholesterol are different types of lipids that circulate in your blood.”
Although the Force actor’s ideology of mental and physical stress contributing to heart health can be scientifically backed, his failed attempt has left many health experts stunned. The clip went viral with some people trolling the actor, while others felt that the idea was correct but he explained it in the wrong way. Many users asked the actor to stick to his field and not give out medical advice on air.
“I wish our medical students had this much confidence! Gibberish at all levels!”, Twitter user Prerna Chettri, a doctor by profession, wrote online sharing the clip.

Pointing out the sheer ignorance and blind following of the showbiz industry, a user wrote, “Why do Bollywood people feel this urge to display their stupidity in every matter? Trust me, if this guy writes a book on heart health, our Indian public will make it a bestseller. “
