SHC irked over construction of illegal portions

Issues notices to builders, SBCA against carrying out construction on roof top of old building

The operation against illegal constructions has now moved to Ramswami and Shoe Market areas.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on a petition against constructing portions on the roof top of an old and dilapidated building restrained the builder from carrying out further construction and offering for sale. The court also issued notices to others including the director general of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA).

A two-member bench comprising Justice Zafar Ahmad Rajput and Justice Muhammad Faisal Kamal Alam heard the petition.

Petitioner's counsel Irfan Aziz Advocate informed the court that illegal construction and sale activity is going on in a building at Shoe Market and Ramswami E/119C. The counsel requested the court to issue orders to stop the illegal activity. The court issued notices to the builders, Muhammad Yousuf and Muhammad Farhan restraining them from selling the portions. The court also issued notice to DG SBCA and sought a reply.

Moreover, the Sindh High Court has ordered to demolish the marriage hall in 10 days on contempt of court petition against SBCA for not demolishing the marriage hall situated on a residential land in Korangi Township Darussalam Society.
