Over 150 bureaucrats promoted

Officials of various service groups get Grades 20, 21

ISLAMABAD:

The federal government, on the recommendation of the Central Selection Board (CSB) and with the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan, has promoted more than 150 officers of various service groups to Grades 20 and 21, while promotions of many others have been deferred and superseded.

The Establishment Division has issued notifications of promotions and transfers of officers.

The CSB meeting on September 28-30 recommended promotions of bureaucrats to Grades 20-21.

The Establishment Division has issued notifications for promotion of officers of Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan and Secretariat Group to Grade 21, while the administrative secretaries have been forwarded promotion cases of their officers and groups.

The prime minister approved the promotion of Information Group Officer and Ministry of Information Joint Secretary Qamar Bashir to Grade 21, while Ministry of Information Deputy Secretary Burj Lal Dosani, Damp Karachi Director Ashiq Hussain Sheikh and Audit Bureau of Circulation’s Raeesa Adil were promoted to Grade 20.

Seven officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service, Islamabad chief commissioner and CDA Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed will remain in Islamabad, Ali Tahir in Punjab, while Capt (retd) Asadullah Khan and Fawad Hashim have been notified for promotion to Grade 21.

After being promoted to Grade 21, Muhammad Hassan Iqbal’s services were handed over from Punjab to the Sindh government. Overseas Pakistanis Division Joint Secretary Zahid Ali Abbasi has been promoted to Grade 21 and posted as Kashmir Affairs Division additional secretary. Iftikhar Ali Saho has been promoted to Grade 21 and will continue his services in the K-P government.

Nine officers of the Pakistan Police Service have been promoted to Grade 21 and as many to Grade 20.
Gilgit-Baltistan IG Saeed Khan Wazir has been made the federal ombudsman, Usman Anwar and Inkisar Khan Afghan have been promoted to FIA, Wisal Fakhar Sultan Motorway Police, and the services of Project Director Muhammad Sabir were handed over to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Services of Salman Chaudhry and Abdul Qadir Qayyum have been handed over to Balochistan, Allah Bakhsh alias Javed Akhtar Odho’s to Sindh and Zulfiqar Hameed, after being promoted to Grade 21, will serve the Punjab government.

After being promoted to Grade 20, Salman Ali Khan will serve in Balochistan, Gul Saeed Khan, Syed Ashfaq Anwar and Zeeshan Asghar will serve in K-P, Syed Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Ashfaq Alam, Abdul Ghaffar Qaisarani, Abdul Hameed Sanjrani and Muqaddas Haider will remain posted in Sindh.
Five officers of the Secretariat Group have been notified for promotion to Grade 21.

A notification has also been issued for the promotion of 20 Pakistan Administrative Service officers to Grade 20.

Shaukat Ali’s services have been handed over to Balochistan from Punjab, Fayyaz Jatoi from Sindh to Balochistan, Muhammad Saleem still in Sindh, Muhammad Jahanzeb Establishment Division joint secretary, Matiullah Khan will remain in K-P, Adnan Arshad from Punjab to Sindh, Muhammad Khan Ranjhab will remain in Sindh, while Shahidullah continues to be posted in Balochistan.

A notification was issued for the promotion of 19 Grade 19 officers of the Secretariat Group to Grade 20.
After promotion, Finance Division Joint Secretary Afaat Malik will serve as Establishment Division joint secretary, NDMA member Muhammad Idrees Mehsud as Power Division joint secretary, Deputy Secretary Raja Muhammad Akhtar Iqbal as Federal Education and Training joint secretary, Inter-Provincial Coordination Deputy Secretary Jamil Ahmad Khan has been promoted as joint secretary, Intikhab Alam has been made Communications Division joint secretary, Commerce Division Deputy Secretary Aftab Ahmed Khan and Saima Begum Ashraf have been promoted to the rank of joint secretary of the same division, Muhammad Tariq as PM Office joint secretary, Shehzad Hameed Khan Durrani has been made National Health and Services joint secretary after promotion to Grade 20, Ghulam Mustafa Wahocho Law and Justice joint secretary, Habibullah, Muhammad Nawaz Alam, Altaf Hussain and Syed Ahmad Raza Asif Finance Division joint secretary, Arshad Mehmood and Abdul Latif Cabinet Division joint secretary, Sabahat Ali Talpur Revenue Division joint secretary, Ghulam Sarwar Parliamentary Affairs joint secretary and Asif Hussain Shah Economic Affairs Division joint secretary.

The prime minister, on the CSB’s recommendation, approved the promotion of 12 officers of the Foreign Affairs Group to Grade 21.

Premier Imran also approved the promotion of two Military Land and Cantonment Group officers Hassan Ali Khan Leghari and Khursheed Ahmed to Grade 21 and three officers Tanveer Ashraf, Wasim Shahid, Asif Amir Khan to Grade 20.

PM Imran also accorded approval to promote six officers of Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service to Grade 21 and seven officers to Grade 20.

Green-light was also given for the promotion of six officers of the Postal Group. Two officers were promoted to Grade 21 while four officers to Grade 20.

PM also approved promotion of seven officers of Pakistan Customs Service and nine of Inland Revenue Service to Grade 21.

Thirteen officers of Pakistan Customs Service and 12 officers of Inland Revenue Service promoted to Grade 20.
