Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has announced to start the double shift in all government colleges and schools to solve the problem of admissions.
He also announced to upgrade all schools in the slums of Rawalpindi.
The interior minister inaugurated a new hall in the Government Associate Girls College F-Block Satellite Town. He also announced Rs1 million for the institution.
The minister said that three women universities and 60 colleges and high schools have been built in Rawalpindi through his efforts.
He added that an IT university and a girls’ college will be constructed in Dhok Dalal.
He said they have Rs350 million available for the college and only the decision regarding the land was to be taken.

He said that a large number of students in Rawalpindi remain deprived of getting admissions owing to which they were going to start evening shifts in colleges and schools. Rashid said no students will face any problem related to admission anymore.
Appreciating female students, the minister said that they were taking 100 out of 100 marks, leaving behind their male peers.
College Principal Irum Ashar said the construction of a new hall has solved a big problem as different programmes and ceremonies will be arranged there instead of in the open air.
