Single-day Covid tally falls below 200

Nine deaths have been reported in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD:

The national tally of active Covid-19 cases reached 13,738 on Monday as 176 more people tested positive for the virus, while 9 more people died from the disease during the last 24 hours, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said in its daily update.

All deceased breathed their last in hospitals, the NCOC said, adding that most of the deaths had occurred in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, where 5 patients died, followed by three fatalities in Punjab. The nationwide death toll from the disease rose to 28,718.

As of Monday, the national caseload of the disease, since its outbreak in February 2020, rose to 1,284,365. Among them, the NCOC said, 1,241,909 people have recovered from the disease, making it a significant ratio of more than 90% recovery rate.
