“Transgenders can approach ‘Tahafuz Centre’ with their complaints, and Rawalpindi district police would ensure their protection and help,” said Rawalpindi City Police officer (CPO) Athar Ismail during his visit to the centre. He stated that a zero tolerance policy would be ensured, particularly in cases of abuse, violence and harassment of women, girls and children.
He assured the police would facilitate citizens through prompt service delivery. Several female police officers were also present on the occasion. New Town Assistant Superintendent Beenish Fatima and Victim Support Officer Lehar Mirza briefed the CPO on the performance of centre.

Ismail said that protecting deprived segments of society would be ensured at all costs. Then, the CPO listened to all the complainants present. The transgenders were also strongly urged to lodge complaints at the centre, and that the police would make efforts for their protection, facilitation and assistance.
