PESHAWAR:

Peshawar High Court (PHC) Wednesday ordered the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) to produce all the record of the hospital before the court.

Hearing a case about the largest hospital of the province, Justice Shakil Ahmad remarked that most of the senior professors have left their jobs in the hospital and juniors have been made head of the departments whose attitude with seniors is not good. He added that the largest hospital of the province had been ruined.

The PHC bench on Wednesday heard petition filed by Professor Dr Adnan Gul in which he requested the court to take notice of his promotion which was still pending despite the court decision in his favour. He said that his promotion was denied despite the court’s orders and it was contempt of court.

The lawyer of Dr Riaz Anwar, Dr Musa Kaleem and Dr Mehfooz, Habib Anwar Advocate informed the court that PHC had ordered the submission of report about the number of professors who have been removed from their posts or who left job at LRH.

He informed the court that several departments at LRH were non-functional but despite the court order no data had been submitted before the court.

He said that several departments have been handed over to the juniors whose attitude with seniors is not good and the cardiology surgery is closed for three years.

The court directed the LRH Law Officer to prepare the report and submit it to the court.
