ISLAMABAD:

Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday accused the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – an alliance of opposition parties -- of trying to deceive the nation and obstruct the country’s journey to progress.

Commenting on the speech of PDM President Maulana Fazlur Rehman during a rally held earlier in the day, the minister said the JUI-F chief’s plans A, B, and C to topple the government had already failed.

“The PDM is a bunch of politically abandoned leaders with the prime aim to deceive the people. These politically unemployed leaders have become insolvent. They can do nothing but only issue statements,” he added.

He recalled that PDM had issued such statements against the government earlier before its failed attempts to dislodge the government.

The JUI-F chief had ended his party’s sit-in against the government on Nov 13, 2019, after it ended in failure, he claimed.

“The PDM and Maulana Fazlur Rehman have lost their senses after successive failures.”

Fawad said the Fazl had failed to deceive the people earlier as well and they would not pay heed to his “adventures” in the future as well.

The minister advised the Maulana to try his luck of holding protest demonstrations against the government in winter too.

Despite repeated setbacks and failures, he said the PDM still wanted to hamper the country's development and prosperity. However, he added, the opposition would never succeed in their nefarious designs.

The minister advised the PDM to wait for two years for elections and then for another five years as the PTI would win the next general polls.

“The PDM has no role left in the politics of the country as Prime Minister Imran Khan has completely exposed the true nature of the ‘corrupt gang’.”

Fawad claimed that the opposition parties were leaning on each other's shoulders to cover their corruption. “Interestingly, the opposition parties have already stabbed each other in the back before.”

He said the entire nation had unshakable faith in the leadership of PM Imran.

“All and sundry is united under PM Imran’s leadership.”
