HYDRABAD:

Do not lower guard though the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic is waning said Hyderabad CommissionerMohammad Abbas Baloch.

The Covid positivity has come down and people have become somewhat relaxed due to which the vaccination drive has slowed down in the nine districts of Hyderabad division, he acknowledged.

The commissioner on Friday directed all the deputy commissioners and the district health officers to immediately pace up efforts to immunise as many people as possible expedite the Covid-19 vaccination campaign.

"The performance of Hyderabad division regarding the vaccination has been disappointing and this has been noticed by the Sindh chief secretary," Baloch told a meeting at his office in Hyderabad. "Therefore, no compromise will be made in the campaign." He emphasized that 10,000 people in each district of the division should be vaccinated on a daily basis. In this regard the national command operation center (NCOC) has already issued the guidelines, he said.
