Brig Nazir says illegal water connections will be removed

The new station commander has directed the Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonment boards to ensure good governance and friendly behaviour with the residents.

He also issued guidelines for improvement in administrative and financial discipline and an increase in recovery.

Cantonment President Brigadier Salman Nazir held a meeting with the heads of branches of both cantonment boards and said that resolving public issues should be the priority.

He also asked questions regarding the performance of different departments and emphasised improving the performance.

The president said the removal of encroachments, increase in revenue recovery, stopping of illegal constructions, timely approval of building plans and redressal of public complaints should be ensured.

He also issued instructions for the timely completion of ongoing development projects without compromising on the quality of work.

Nazar said all illegal water connections should be cut, while the cleanliness in the cantonment areas should be exemplary.

He also issued instructions to dispose of all pending matters.

Meanwhile, the election commission has issued the notification of the winners on the reserved seats of cantonment boards. Now, the elections for the vice-presidents will be carried out.
