Blast reported in Balochistan's Sibi district

Explosion occurred behind police ground, says law enforcers

An explosion was reported in the Sibi district of Balochistan on Wednesday; however, there were no casualties.

According to police officials, the blast took place at the rear of a police ground in Sibi. The nature of the blast was being ascertained. Soon after the blast, a heavy contingent of security forces reached the area and cordoned it off to carry out an initial investigation.

In June this year, five Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers were martyred in a terrorist attack in Sibi, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The FC men, deployed in the mountainous area of Sangan, located between Sibi and Harnai districts, came under attack while patrolling the area late at night. The ISPR said that terrorists had targeted an FC patrol.
