ISLAMABAD:

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday reassured Pakistan’s complete support to Azerbaijan against Armenian aggression, from which Azeri forces liberated its territories last year that were under an illegal occupation for almost the last three decades.

“I want to reassure you that the people of Pakistan stand with you and the people of Azerbaijan,” he said while welcoming a delegation of Azerbaijan in the visitors’ gallery of the National Assembly.

“Azerbaijan is the one country that always stood with Pakistan at international fora and I am happy to share that in the hour of need Pakistan stood with you in your struggle and celebrated your victory day today,” FM Qureshi said.

The minister further said Azerbaijan always stood by Pakistan on international issues, adding, “Azerbaijan is one country that is part of the contact group on Kashmir and its foreign minister always participated in the contact group meetings. I thank you for the support given to Pakistan”

The delegation gave a standing ovation to the House for giving a warm welcome to it and extending support to Azerbaijan.

It is pertinent to note that Armenia kept under occupation almost 20 per cent of Azerbaijan’s territory, committing notorious war crimes and crimes against humanity.
