Ayesha Omar featured in a local magazine alongside cricketer Shoaib Malik last month but after Pakistan's win against Scotland on Sunday in the ICC tournament, she shared photos from the shoot on her Instagram.
Looking sizzling in an orange number next to Malik, who, like Shehzad Roy, doesn’t seem to age at all, Omar captioned the first photo, “Never have I ever,” and wrote “Beat it,” under the second. The all-rounder could be seen sporting a button down in a pool, striking intimate poses with Omar for the camera.
The shoot has spurred numerous social media reactions with fans of both the public figures wondering how they decided to pair up for such a shoot with Sania Mirza, who’s currently the favourite bhabi of the nation, being okay with it. But Omar assured one of them that a mere photo shoot featuring two people of the opposite sex does not hint at an affair.
When a user asked, “Kya ap dono ka shaadi ka irada hai (Are you two planning on getting married)?” Omar replied, “Not at all." She added, “He is married and is very happy with his wife. I respect both Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza a lot." Omar also claimed that she and Malik are nothing but each other’s well-wishers. “Shoaib and I are good friends and each other’s well-wishers. People have such relations in this world too,” she asserted.
The host had posted these photos with Malik after he won Man of the Match against Scotland in Sunday’s game. Malik has been trending on social media for his brilliant performance ever since, especially because he dethroned India’s KL Rahul by smashing a staggering 54 off 18 balls, setting a new record for the fastest 50 of the tournament.
Omar, on the other hand, recently celebrated eleven years of her popular sitcom Bulbulay. She attended the Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night in Dubai as well.
In January this year, Omar had silenced a troll accusing her of ‘propagating behayai (vulgarity)’. She had said, “I'm not asking women to expose their bodies. That is their choice, as wearing this dress was mine. As wearing whatever you want, is yours. Look beyond my limbs and appreciate someone's hard-work without being judgmental.”
