PTI govt in violation of Debt Limitation Act: Marri

The ACT restricts the government not to cross the 60 per cent debt-to-GDP mark, the MNA adds

KARACHI:

Pakistan Peoples Party-Parliamentarians (PPP-P) Central Information Secretary MNA Shazia Atta Marri has said that the country's borrowings have reached about 95 per cent of the GDP which is a clear violation of the Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Limitation Act, 2005.

The Act, she reminded, restricts the government not to cross the 60 per cent debt-to-GDP mark.

Marri said that Imran Khan's government has deteriorated the country's economy, education and security systems even government did not take any action against the involved culprits who martyred 12 policemen on duty, few days back in Punjab.

She said this while holding a press conference along with Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab and others in the committee room of Sindh Assembly.

She said that the PTI government increased the prices of petrol and diesel, electricity tariff, sugar, flour and medicines prices in the country.
