Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Farooq Akmal has said that community mobilisation is a must to control the spread of dengue.
Addressing a meeting of the District Emergency Response Committee for Anti-Dengue Measures on Friday, he said that the primary responsibility of the authorities, especially the health department and the local governments, was taking all possible steps to keep the environment clean and dry.
He said that anti-dengue teams should be fully mobilised for indoor and outdoor inspections. He said full attention has been paid in Sialkot district to prevent the spread of dengue.
He said that strict monitoring of dengue hotspots and laboratory sampling of larvae should be done and the hotspots should be sprayed.
He urged the EDO health to visit colleges, hold seminars and workshops for creating dengue awareness, while the waste management companies, municipal corporations and municipal committees should eliminate all hotspots within their jurisdiction.
