Police set up social media monitoring unit
Inspector General of Punjab Police (IGP) Rao Sardar Ali Khan inaugurated a new Social Media Monitoring Unit at Central Police Office on Friday.
The unit has been set up for timely delivery of necessary information to the people and immediate solution of their problems, said Khan on the occasion.
He said that in addition to providing modern facilities to PROs, training workshops for capacity building should also be conducted. Special attention should be paid to timely redress of public issues shared on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms.
The IGP directed the staff of the social media unit to intensify efforts to monitor and address public complaints. DIG Operations Punjab Sajid Kiyani briefed the IGP about the SMMU.
