Police force is making efforts to eradicate crime completely, says DIG South Karachi

KARACHI:

Among many other causes, despair emanating from poverty induced by unemployment and inflation fuel crime rate, said South district police chief on Thursday.

The police force is making efforts to eradicate crime completely, said DIG South Karachi, Javaid Akber Riaz on the occasion of a function organized by the Rotary Club of Karachi (RCK) Nexus.

RCK Nexus President M Ali Haider, Vice President Akbar Naqi, Secretary General Zubair Baweja, Founder and Executive Secretary Aslam Khaliq, Mahmood Ali khan, FPCCI Vice President Shahid Ahmed Leghari, and others were also present.

Riaz said that the increase in crime is also due to poverty, inflation and unemployment. He said that protecting the youth from drug poisoning and stopping the use of drugs in educational institutions is also our first priority.

He said that the police force is always engaged to protect against thieves, robbers and street criminals. He said that crime can be controlled through community policing and law and order situation can be further improved with the cooperation of the people.

The DIG said that the morale of the police could be boosted by bridging the gap between the people and police. The sacrifices of those who were martyred in the performance of their duties for the sake of the homeland will always be remembered.

Ali Haider said that peace is linked to prosperity, improvement of economy and development of the country.

Naqi said police should be trained in modern and scientific ways.
