Gigi to co-parent daughter with Zayn following singer’s altercation with Yolanda
In a recent development following singer Zayn Malik’s physical altercation with Yolanda Hadid, mother of his now ex-partner supermodel Gigi Hadid, it has been revealed that the model wants to remain “civil” with Zayn, with whom she has a one-year-old daughter, Khai. Gigi has decided to not cut the singer off for their daughter’s sake.
According to People, a source close to Gigi stated, “ Yolanda is very upset with Zayn, but Gigi has made it clear that her daughter needs her dad." The source also added, “Gigi will do everything she can to make sure they co-parent in a civil way." "Yolanda came over uninvited while Gigi was away for work and Zayn was taking care of Khai," another source was quoted as saying. "That led to an argument," they added.
According to the official court document, the singer pleaded guilty to one offence while he pleaded no contest to the other three. The singer has been sentenced to 90 days probation for each count, totalling 360 days. He must also complete an anger management class and a domestic violence program. The court has also ordered him to have no contact with either Yolanda or the security guard. Assuming all conditions are satisfied after 6 months, the judge could terminate probation.
The former singer took to Twitter to announce that the matter was ‘private’ and he wished for it to be resolved within the family. However, it became a public affair when Zayn was charged with four criminal offences of harassment in court.
After six years of multiple separations and reconciliations, the Zayn and Gigi seemed picture-perfect following the birth of their daughter Khai in September 2020. However, their tumultuous relationship history repeated itself when the former One Direction singer became involved in a physical altercation with Yolanda. The incident happened on September 29 in their Pennsylvania home where the model and singer raise their one-year-old daughter Khai.
