Saudi approves Pfizer's vaccine for age group 5-11
The kingdom last month lifted curbs following a sharp drop in infections, considerable vaccinations
CAIRO:
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority said on Wednesday it had given its approval to use Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine for those between five and eleven years of age.
The authority added in a statement its decision was "based on data provided by the company, which showed the vaccine met the special regulatory requirements".
On October 17, the kingdom eased curbs following a sharp drop in daily infections and a considerable development in vaccinations.

The government lifted social distancing measures and allowed full-capacity attendance at the country's two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Medina for those who have taken the full dose of vaccines.
The authorities also canceled curbs on fully vaccinated people at closed venues, gatherings, transportation, restaurants and cinemas.
Masks are no longer mandatory at public open places while still imposed at closed venues, it added.
