The talented Pakistani star, Ahmed Ali Butt, has made a name for himself in the showbiz industry. The renowned star is known for his stellar expressions and his ability to own his characters. But his eloquence isn't just limited onscreen. The Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actor, in a recent post, expressed gratitude to his late father for his expressive upbringing.

In our society, men are conditioned to hold on to the idea of macho-ness and rigid masculinity that does not permit any ‘weak’ emotions. Men who are emotional are synonyms to weak, while a non-masculine characteristic often means repression. The stereotyping is so deep-rooted in society that anger is considered the right channel for men to be superior. However, the Butt family does it differently and their sons are grateful for it.

The Parey Hut Love actor recently paid homage to his late father, Haroon Rasheed Butt, for his upbringing. The actor posted a picture of his late dad on his 10th death anniversary and penned an emotional note, remembering him. He expressed his gratitude for teaching them the value of emotions and expressions in keeping your loved ones around. "Men are generally not allowed to be emotional or sensitive in our society, because a man is supposed to hide his feelings."

He added, "You on the other hand taught us how to be sensitive and emotional towards our loved ones and I only understand your teaching now better as I take on the role of a father myself. Every lesson that I try to pass on, came from you. Thank you, Pappe for letting us be men who can express our truth."

Kudos to Butt's father for nurturing an environment of love and care. Here’s to a society that allows all emotions to flow freely and express individuals as they want - regardless of gender.
