KARACHI:

The Sindh government is going to recruit 5,000 special personnel for the security of minority community places of worship, announced provincial minister for minority affairs Gyanchand Isarani.

The minister issued this statement during a visit to Devi Mata Mandir at Kotri where he asked Maharaja Bhagwandas about the untoward incident that took place on Friday.

Some unscrupulous elements vandalized the temple and stole artifacts. PPP Minority Wing President Dr Lal Chand Akrani, Taluka Kohistan President Bhagwan Das Kohistani, Suraj Akrani and others accompanied the minister.

The provincial minister assured that the perpetrators behind theft and vandalism would be arrested. He said that the police are investigating the incident and the culprits will be traced soon. Talking to the media, Gyanchand Isarani said the Sindh chief minister has also taken notice of the incident and ordered police to tighten security arrangements at places of worship of minority communities.
