ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court has been approached by former president Asif Ali Zardari against the order of the accountability court to indict the PPP co-chairman in the NAB reference of more than Rs8 billion suspicious transaction

Accountability Court Judge Syed Asghar Ali had on October 14 decided to reject the PPP co-chairman’s acquittal plea in the NAB reference of a suspicious transaction of more than Rs8 billion, which was challenged in the IHC on Tuesday.

The petition sought that the accountability court be restrained from indicting Zardari and that the decision to reject the acquittal petition be quashed and orders be issued to acquit him from the reference.

The court has summoned Zardari on October 28 for indictment.
