Man allegedly murdered in parking dispute

Victim intervened in fight between rickshaw driver, locals

A 42-year-old man was allegedly shot dead after he intervened in a fight over a parking dispute in the city on Sunday.

Reportedly, the incident took place on Rajaba Road.

Police took the body of the deceased into custody and shifted it to a hospital for postmortem and started raids to arrest the alleged killers.

According to the police report, the locals Rozi Khan and others were arguing with a rickshaw driver over parking his three-wheeler in front of a shop near Mandirwali gali, Lunda Market, Rajaba Road near Jhang Bazaar Chowk, Factory Area.

Meanwhile, 42-year-old Suleiman, the son of Abdul Majeed, stepped forward to settle the dispute. However, Rozi pulled out a gun and opened fire, which hit Suleiman on his face.. The injured victim was rushed to Allied Hospital Faisalabad by Rescue 1122 personnel where he breathed his last.

Factory Area police on receiving information reached the crime scene. A large number of citizens also gathered on Jhang Bazaar Chowk main road after the alleged murder.

Later, the Factory Area police team started raids to arrest Rozi and other suspects.

Incidents of murder involving parking disputes had previously occurred in the province.

On September 7, a clothes shop owner opened fire on three siblings over a motorcycle parking dispute that resulted in the death of one person in Multan.

Zubair, owner of a grocery store, a resident of Main Market Sabzi Wali Gali in Delhi Gate area, had forbidden Saeed, a clothes vendor, to park his motorcycle in front of his shop.

However, Saeed reportedly refused to comply which resulted in a heated argument between the two.

The altercation escalated to a point where Saeed barged into the residence of Zubair and opened indiscriminate fire at the family. As a consequence, the owner of the grocery store died on the spot while his sister Zehra and brother Hamza were severely wounded. The assailant escaped from the crime scene to avoid cops.

On December 31 last year, a woman was killed and another critically injured after some men opened fire over a dispute over the parking of a rickshaw in Rehman Colony, Faisalabad.

Nadeem had parked his rickshaw outside Suraya Majeed Hospital in Razaabad area. The accused Abdul Rehman, Asif alias Lahori, Qasim Ali and others asked him to remove the rickshaw but he refused. The men attacked the rickshaw driver, after which men and women present at the spot tried to rescue him.

However, the suspects Abdul Rehman, Asif Lahori, Qasim Ali, Chand, Bhola and eight others opened fire, due to which 32-year-old Rehana Bibi, wife of Aziz, and 24-year-old Sana Bibi were severely injured. While the injured were being shifted to hospital, Rehana Bibi succumbed to injuries.
