LAHORE:

Member Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Hina Pervez Butt has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan over “flawed policies, wrong decisions on economic sectors and failure to put the country on the right track”.

The demand was made by the PML-N lawmaker Butt in her resolution she submitted in the Punjab Assembly secretariat on Friday.

MPA Butt also expressed her gloom over the skyrocketing prices of the essential food items. She said it was regrettable that Pakistan is on the list of most costly countries following the prevailing price hike.

She also cited a report published in “The Economist” on high inflation in Pakistan.

She submitted that Pakistan was the leading country in price hike in the world followed by Brazil and Argentina.

“No one else is responsible,” she continued, “it is only the result of the government's flawed policies on the economy.”

She said the price hike and the poverty were increasing with each passing day. “The government has no such policies which could put the country on the right track,” she said.

“There is clear evidence of the government’s flawed policies.

Four finance ministers have failed to boost the country’s economy. Pakistan has weakened owing to the bad policies of Imran Khan,” she concluded.

She said the prime minister should resign to save the country from further decline. Butt said the government has no policies to put the country on the track of development.

The PML-N leader also criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership over handling of different issues including petroleum prices, poverty and unemployment.
