‘Coronavirus not yet completely eradicated’

PA speaker says it is govt’s responsibility to provide relief and employment to people

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said the coronavirus was not yet completely eradicated while dengue was spreading in major parts of the province.

He said the government should have taken the appropriate and timely measures against the timely dengue mosquitoes.

He made these remarks while chairing a meeting on the usefulness of the local body system on Thursday. The meeting was attended by the chairman, vice-chairman, councilors, and local body representatives. The meeting formulated a plan of action for the solution of the basic problems of the people and orders were issued on the spot.

Elahi underscored that Rescue 1122 service played an important role in controlling the situation in the coronavirus pandemic.

It was the responsibility of the government to provide relief and employment to the people who have to be brought out of the grip of inflation.

He said the previous governments neglected the welfare of the people for their interests.

“The only solution to the basic problems of the people is in the local government system. This system has put the country on the path of peace and development.”

The meeting was attended by former Nazim Ch Asghar Ali, Amjad Pervez Butt, Usman Nasrullah Khokhar, Ch Husnain Asghar and other leaders were present.
