QUETTA:

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has said that till date he has met with six disgruntled BAP members of provincial assembly in a pleasant atmosphere. The move comes as the chief minister faces a no-confidence motion against him in the Balochistan Assembly.

“Balochistan Awami Party is the most democratic party in the country and [we] will resolve our problems without the interference of others,” the chief minister said on social networking site Twitter on Sunday.

His statement came a day after Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Quddus Bizenjo claimed that he was aspiring to become the chief minister of the province. A close associate of Bizenjo met JUI-F Balochistan Amir Maulana Abdul Wasey and sought his support in dethroning the incumbent chief minister.

On Sunday, CM Kamal said, "BAP is our party and we will solve our own affairs.

"I will say again, BAP is the most democratic party in Pakistan. Differences emerge, we discuss them and thankfully we resolve them."

Kamal said, "To date, I have met about six angry BAP MPAs in a very good atmosphere and inshallah everything will be resolved."

He tweeted, "Some people wanted to create more differences so that we could react to each other. But thank God we have all shown great responsibility and respect for each other."

CM Kamal visited the residence of Finance Minister Mir Zahoor Baledi where the two leaders discussed the political situation in Balochistan. However, the meeting did not prove fruitful.

Political issues including removal of reservations of disgruntled party members were discussed.

Later, Sanjrani along with Speaker Bizenjo left for Islamabad.

Bizenjo was headed to Karachi to attend a private matter but as his flight was cancelled he left for Islamabad from where he would fly to Karachi.

Meanwhile, BAP members and disgruntled coalition members met at the speaker’s chamber and discussed the political situation.

Apart from the political situation, the future strategy was also discussed in the meeting.

The disgruntled members and allies refused to budge from their stance.
