60 new dengue patients landed in Rawalpindi hospitals

At least four more coronavirus patients died while 43 new cases surfaced in the Rawalpindi district during the last 24 hours.

According to health officials, the four Covid-19 patients died at the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Kidney Transplant in Rawalpindi while the positivity rate almost doubled from 1.69 per cent to 3.01 per cent.

According to health officials, 1,599 citizens were tested for the coronavirus and of them, 43 were tested positive for the lethal virus.

The health officials said that 55 coronavirus patients were currently admitted to the three allied hospitals and of them, 48 were on oxygen.

As many as 33,888 patients have successfully recovered so far, the health officials said.

Meanwhile, the dengue virus continues to take a toll on people in Rawalpindi as 60 new positive patients landed in two hospitals.

Currently, 164 dengue patients were admitted to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital, the Holy Family Hospital and the District Headquarters Hospital, where 187 beds had been allocated for the mosquito-infected people.

Sources said most patients in allied hospitals were either from Islamabad or adjoining areas of Rawalpindi.
