KARACHI:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday registered a case against two NADRA officials and a foreign national for illegally issuing a CNIC. One of the officials was taken into custody.

According to an FIA Sindh spokesman, the agency’s Anti-Human Trafficking Cell registered a case against NADRA’s deputy superintendent Ghulam Ali Babar, deputy assistant director Ghulam Muhammad Shah and foreign national Muhammad Moin.

Muhammad Moin, in cahoots with NADRA officials, forged facts on the NADRA registration form and succeeded in obtaining a CNIC. Moin’s name was enlisted wrongfully in the family tree of a citizen who denied having any such person in his family.
