Pakistan, Russian special forces take part in Druzhba-VI exercise

The exercise will run for two weeks

Special Forces of Pakistan and Russia are participating in a two-week-long exercise - Druzhba VI - being held at the Molkino training area in Krasnodar, Russia, according to a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations on Wednesday.

The drills cover the counter-terrorism domain. 

According to the military's media wing, the opening ceremony of the exercise was attended by the Mayor of Garyachi Kaluch Sergy Belopolsky as chief guest.

"Senior officials of Pakistan and Russia were present on the occasion," the ISPR stated adding that national anthems of Pakistan and Russia were also played during the ceremony followed by weapons and equipment display.

Earlier it was reported that a contingent of the Pakistan Army participated in the opening ceremony of "Peace Mission" joint exercise under the ambit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Russia.

"Troops from all Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states are participating in the exercise under extremely challenging field environment. Belarus is taking part in the exercise as an observer," it added.
