FIA summons six officials in FGEHA housing scam

Development comes after applicant provides evidence of corruption in acquisition of land

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Cell Islamabad has expanded the scope of an investigation into the alleged corruption by officials in the procurement of land for the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) in Sector 14, Islamabad.

The FIA has summoned six officials, LAC Assistant Director Israr Kakakhel, Estate AD Ghulam Rasool Lagari, Naib Tehsildars Zakir Hussain, Muhammad Nawazish, Muhammad Mudassir and Malik Akhtar next week for investigation after getting evidence, sources claimed.

According to the sources, the official had been summoned after an applicant provided evidence of alleged corruption in the acquisition of land for FGEHA in Sector G-14.

The applicant had levelled allegations that FGEHA and housing authority officials were making money through corrupt practices in Sector G-14/1, 2 and 3.

FIA Anti-Corruption Circle AD Malik Sajid Awan has been tasked to inquire the matter, the source said.

Earlier, the cell had investigated six officials, including tehsildar Muhammad Irfan, Abeer, Afzal Khan, Adnan and Iktidar.

A large of retired and serving federal government employees have not been given plots despite taking upfront money from them.
