Funds approved for Women University Swabi

PESHAWAR:

Deputy chairman of the planning commission approved funds amounting to approximately 21.1 billion rupees on Friday for the expansion project of Women University Swabi.

A meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of the deputy chairman.

These funds will be used for the construction work, external development, transport, information and communications technology (ICT) equipment, books, periodicals, scholarly journals and linkages with foreign universities.

The university had acquired 462 kanals of land through the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government for the project situated 36kms away from the Swabi.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the master expansion plan has been completed while infrastructure work will be developed in three phases after which the new campus site will become functional.
